齋藤直子 Naoko Saito

 

サキソフォン奏者。 5歳でピアノを、中学生でギターを始め、音楽に親しみながら育つ。 武蔵野美術大学在学中よりファイバーワークの作家として国内外のコンペティションで入賞。 卒業後は、森英恵、小西良幸FICCEのテキスタイルを手掛ける。 かなり大人になってから渋谷毅オーケストラを聴き、サックスを始める。 松風鉱一氏に師事。 即興演奏を中心に活動している。 2020年、Free Jazz、Improvisation専門のレーベル Armageddon Novaよりリリースの『点字呼吸の領域 The Region of Braille Respiration』にRachel Musson(U.K.)、 Audrey Lauro(Belgium)と共に参加。 2025年11月、Armageddon Novaよりソロアルバム『乱反射の月 The Moon In Diffuse Reflection』をリリース。

She began playing the piano at the age of five and took up the guitar in junior high school, growing up immersed in music.
While studying at Musashino Art University, she worked as a fiber artist and received awards in competitions both in Japan and abroad.
After graduating, she was involved in textile work for Hanae Mori and Yoshiyuki Konishi (FICCE).

Later in life, after hearing the Takeshi Shibuya Orchestra, she began playing the saxophone and studied under Koichi Matsukaze.
Her activities focus primarily on improvised performance.

In 2020, she participated—alongside Rachel Musson (UK) and Audrey Lauro (Belgium)—in "The Region of Braille Respiration", released by Armageddon Nova, a label specializing in free jazz and improvisation.

In November 2025, she released her solo album "The Moon in Diffuse Reflection" on Armageddon Nova.
